Birds, nature’s born musicians, have been inspiring composers for centuries. Western Classical music, as well as music from around the world, has been affected by the tonal patterns of bird song. Come listen to music inspired by nature’s winged friends. “Music For The Birds” is an aviary journey through some of the greatest composers of Western Classical Music.
A discussion, led by Ertan Seyyar Sener, Conductor/Music Director of the New Britain Symphony Orchestra, will be held on Thursday, April 16th at 7:00pm, with an opening reception at 6:30pm, at the New Britain Youth Museum at Hungerford Park, 191 Farmington Avenue, Kensington. We will listen to excerpts of the upcoming concert “Ode To Nature”, presented by the New Britain Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, May 3 at 3:00 pm, at Welte Hall at Central Connecticut State University. In conjunction with Hungerford Park, learn about some of the most bird inspired sounds of classical music. Mr. Sener was recently confirmed as the permanent conductor and music director of the New Britain Symphony.
